When summer comes inside

April 9, 2020

When summer comes inside
and I feel needed
and loved,
the loneliness thaws
and smiles return
to what was once
a frozen face.
It doesn't take much
for summer to come.
Time spent with
a connecting heart
or hearts.
When summer comes
and I can put away
the snow plow and snow shoes.
It doesn't take much
to melt the frost
and thaw the earth.
Summer came easily to me
It's winter that isn't natural.
