When I was a toddler I would run
to ocean to see surf
my aunt had to build a cage
to keep me home.
Now I’m an old lady
and still want to go to the ocean
But there is nothing to stop me
No cage
No loving aunt.
Now I have a driver – friend
who drives me to the ocean
by the fastest route.
