When Deprived

May 27, 2020

In My Mother's Lap

pandemic poetry

When deprived from something
my fantasy goes to the other extreme.
When no sugar allowed,
Fantasizing doing nothing but
eating sugar—sugar, sugar.
Now I’m in shelter in place,
Fantasizing living with homeless,
on the street,
No roof,
no restrictions.
