Waves so competitive
Rushing to shore
Marathon runners
Are waves.
Some wearing feathers
Some crashing
into each other.
Acrobatic waves
rolling – tumbling
Some yodeling
with mouths wide open.
Waves rolling to the beach
Some in fluffy pajamas
Waves chasing each other
Playing frisky tag
Even with all this motion,
A great calm
I keep expressing “ahhhhh”
Kite carries my spirit high
Safely and carefully
Waves are water surfers.
