You live behind a wall
so your garden is neat
and well attended.
I'm remembering as a teenager
no walls between me and Chuckie
no time restrictions -
We didn't allow it.
I knew another man
a few months ago
who lived behind very thick walls;
a fortress to keep me out.
No crack in the wall at all.
Your wall is tidy
not cold but there.
It does the job.
I don't know what is behind
the wall at all.
Part of me wants to climb up
and peer over the top
another part says go on.
Somehow the wall says to me,
"You don't want to hear my words and songs"
But you know it isn't all bad.
At least, I am in tack and safe;
Although sad, very sad
at being so disconnected.
