My body often a strange terrain
Flooding of fat waters;
Noises as if a swarm of locusts
flying from my lungs.
Sometimes I'm strangled by vines
of congestion.
And other times, my heart beats loud
as if a Haitian drum.
In this strange land,
it is a comfort to have a good doctor guide
who knows the terrain
of this strange land.
