Use to be
The road between us
was a smooth highway
that stretched and bent
easily around destruction
and detours
Yet now smooth highway
Has shrunk to a
Wobbly- very wobbly
sidewalk with dangerous holes
I fall into
and get hurt.
Can’t seem to get used to
sharp surprising crevices
over and over
leaving me black and blue
and bleeding long.
