THE AMERICAN TOURIST
June 21, 2020
Folder No 10--The Moon Grows and Other Poems
The American tourist
Never belongs;
He rolls across the land
And flies away in large planes
That leave no tracks.
He is motored by his own pace
That he brings with him.
His ears are turned
To catch his own words
Not the words of the land.
His feet dare not feel
Nor his heart to give.
