SALLY AND THE T-GROUP

May 19, 2020

Early Poems to Read Christmas Eve

Sally is a green horn
Who falls off easily.
She lies on the ground and yells,
Thinks of leaving
But doesn't.
She does get up,
Dusts herself off
And mounts again
Only to be thrown.
Yet, maybe someday,
She will be able to stay on
And even be glad for the ride
Then
And not only in reflection.
That will be her day
When she and the horse are one.
*
When will that day be
When I will be able to stay
on any horse that is given me?
I wish there wasn't such a gap
Between my riding ability
And my desire.
