I’m remembering as a teenager
waiting for him to call.
Then waiting for third ring
because did not want to appear
eager.
Now as I write this with a sigh
I’m a senior waiting for his email,
Then I send mine
but it does not register sent.
My friend Helen says do not call
you will appear too eager.
