My great aunt Matty
and I walked slowly
when I was a toddler
and she was a 87 year old toddler.
Together we'd walk to the beach
hand in hand.
Not able to speak much
neither one of us.
We'd say the same phrases over
and she would laugh -
A respite from earlier at St. Luke's Home.
My first writings were to her.
She loved being my pen pal.
