chasing like the wind
around corners
causing doors to slam
and mental windows to shake.
As the night deepens,
their fangs
lengthen.

The bed
each little bump a mountain.
All night wolf thoughts
race along.
When day breaks,
they’re found asleep
in a fuzzy, furry huddle.
