MATTHEW ARNOLD
April 25, 2020
Droplets and other Poems
Arnold, your squinty, wrinkly eyes
Drains out the color from life
Leaving it like an over exposed photograph
Or a chamber of echoes.
Swimming and gagging,
You'd reach for the buoy of GOD
And when you'd get it,
You'd turn it upside down
So it wouldn't seem like a buoy any more.
