Lilac bush I would sit in its branches
and smell and be soothed by perfume
It grew and I grew
always its branches could hold me
and cup me in its hand
The house was sold-torn down-remodeled
The new people let me com
and visit my beloved Lilac tree
and be soothed by gentle perfume
