I don’t like new shoes
They are needed but sit
in the closet
While I keep enjoying
my old shoes.
And so with people,
You, my comfortable old shoe friend,
So comfortable and refreshing
I prefer to wear you
Way over new shoes.
A new shoe feels
Tough and rigid
And hurts my feet.
You, on the other hand,
When wearing you
We rock along
In an easy manner.
