There is a pretty woman
here at airport.
For the past ten minutes,
she has been putting on makeup
with a wand,
and keeps tapping her face
over and over.
Like a vain parakeet
looking in mirror
and pecking at itself.
Gosh!
I would think
she would get tendonitis
for all the tapping movements.
Good gosh woman –
All the time you
have been tapping –
There is the wasted time
Shapeyou could have
written a cheery email
or texted a friend
or read about
What is going on
in the world.
But! Instead she prefers
to pamper and pamper
on an already beautify
perfect face.
Being a Scotswoman
her face is already perfect
due to lack of sun
and a lot of rain
moisturizing it over and over.
Who is she doing all this for?
A current lover?
who will only break
her heart
or possibly stop loving her
if some morning they awake
and she is without makeup?

ignoring
friend companion -
Everyone around her
is leaving to catch a plane!
But she is still
applying makeup
My! she just got up
wearing dirty shabby shoes
and baggy clothes.
And all this makeup!?
