For a year leaves Belonged
June 14, 2020
Folder No 7 11.25.11 Plucked Out For Sacred Grounds and to 11.14.12
For a year leaves belonged to a tree.
They made the tree laugh and be gay.
The tree gave them support
From her they could draw their strength
Until the seasonal winds came
And took the leaves with them.
Then they belonged to the winds
First one and then another.
They loved running along with the winds
And the winds tickled their veins.
They belonged to many lands known and unknown
And to the animals and the rocks on the lands,
Leaving the tree further and further behind
Lonely and empty
There was no returning.
