Everyday home from school

May 28, 2020

Everyday home from school
With dresses old and too short
Exposing my scarred knees
knots.
Home to emptiness
And a big empty house -
Like my mind -
Endlessly empty.

Boarding school -
He a female Holden Crawfield
Rotting in boredom and depression.

So, off to camp to join
But my stomach has shrunk
Unable to contain many people for long
But the fun to giggle away nervous tensions Just lying on the bed giggling.

There was love from Taffy and Cocker Spaniel
With long ears -
Never was she enough to really love.
My father old and slow and old
My mother beautiful to me
Until Ann pointed out her hair was gray Then her lack of beauty crashed down
And lived with me.
