Criticism makes me sneeze
As from an allergy
Always with the regularity
Of the seasons.
Yet, my plea is
To be able to hold my sneezes
When one throws ragweed in my face.
For sneezing needs attention and care,
And I can't focus
On helping you
To feel free to throw ragweed
harder and longer
If you must -
For holding ragweed
Will hold you down
And keep you from skipping.
