ANOTHER DEATH ANOTHER LIFE
April 3, 2020
Taking for granted our life here,
We do not realize the impact that will come
When that first note of “Pomp and Circumstance”
Ends our life at Pine Manor
And begins our life in a new world-
Where we will be infants again.
We shed all that we belong to here,
We leave behind those in this world sad,
Pain and moments of emptiness for us, too.
What world—where—
No one knows exactly.
Sometimes we feel that in this new state
We’ll be freer because our souls have grown,
Yet, we will return
In your tales about us next year.
