It is a long brick path 
for him to travel 
to reach my home— 
I swept clean pathway but! 
He saw side of one brick 
a very little tilted 
so threw up his hands 
and bolted 
yelling “can’t come”. 
That one single brick 
was small 
and could have 
been crossed over so easily 
But he bolted 
and disappeared.
