Growing up we had a house
with a damp cold cellar.
It was always dark and damp.
Long stairs led to it
The stairs hard to navigate
even as a child with small feet.
Now I've had a leg injury
again like I did when 15.
Feeling like I'm in the cellar
and it is damp and cold.
