It's tricky to get from
shore into the lake, but once
you're in the lake, Ah,
once you're in the lake,
the water mattresses you.
I floated the longest
on my back in
the Hidden Lake Camp
Floating Contest. I
could be floating still if
Barbara, the swimming
counselor, hadn't finally
blown her whistle for
me to stop.

My woolen bathing
suit with penguins all
protruding above the
water on my pot belly.
My arms, neck and
head and legs so
relaxed.
It was so effortless
to win the floating contest
at Hidden Lake Camp. I
floating there still, wearing
my penguin bathing suit.
