Fred

April 4, 2020

He spent time with me
It wasn't saw dust of excuses blown in my face.
He was there in total Present.
It wasn't clouds of maybe's that blew off the sky,
he was there sitting by me on my sofa
tuning in
listening
sharing from his depth.
I didn't have to run after him
as a child chasing a gypsy caravan
with stones shooting out from the wheels the only contact.

He was really there
sitting next to me
on my sofa,
pointing to new paths with his flashlight. How nice
What a relief
His sharing
poured over me like warm syrup
melting my cold
nestling into the corners of my glass dish. These words on paper
My testimony of appreciation.
