Crutches may overcome his form-
Pinching and slipping
Too cold in winter.
Yet, his mind is limber and agile
Lighter as the years go by-
For his love of verse
Gives it life and song.
His grace covers and fills me
Born from long patient pauses
Made while studying and writing.
With real love and reverence,
He holds the pages.
Age has taken
And given to him
Precious presents.
