A Thin Layer of Tin

April 4, 2020

A thin layer of tin
was removed today
and now oh! so light
and free-
I can swing my arms fully around
and can breathe without it hurting.
This layer had been there so long
that it was meshed and knitted
in with my true skin.
The doctor held me there
even though I kicked
and tried to run away.
He held me there even though
I spat and called him mean.
Oh! I'm so much lighter now
and freer.
